Embedding diagrams of the ordinary and optical reference geometry of black-hole spacetimes and their astrophysical relevance
Original language description
Embedding diagrams of both ordinary geometry and optical reference geometry of static spherically symmetric and stationary axially symmetric black-hole spacetimes are presented as a useful concept for intuitive understanding of these spacetimes´ nature.Optical reference geometry and related intertial forces and their relationship to the embedding diagrams are discussed. Typical embedding diagrams are constructed for Schwarzschild-(anti-)de Sitter, Reissner-Nordström-(anti-)de Sitter, Ernst and Kerr-Newman spacetimes.
