A recurring problem concerning marketing operatives at all levels is a forecast of the demand for new products. This article discusses a technique, Bayesian method, by which the forecast of such products can be calculated. This technique is used to examine the forecast accuracy for sales of lightning current arristers during the year 2004. These foracasts are compared with those obtained by exponential smoothing.

Přetrvávajícím problémem marketingových manažerů na všech řídicích úrovních je určení správného odhadu poptávky na nové produkty. V článku se diskutuje technika ? Bayesova metoda pro stanovení prognózy pro takovéto produkty. V článku je prezentovaná Bayesová metoda na reálné aplikaci pro konstrukci krátkodobých prognóz s vyhodnocením jejích chybovosti a její porovnání s konstrukcemi prognóz založenými na exponenciálním vyrovnávaní.
