Lesbians, Bisexuals and Transgenders in Orange Is the New Black

  • Original language description

The paper analyses the image of various gender identities in first two seasons of the American Netflix series Orange Is the New Black. The show reflects a variety of social issues of gender-variant identities in prison, including the concept of a woman and access to medical treatment, creating a complex view of what the term ?woman? signifies. The main attention is paid to the categories of femme, butch and transgender and the way they are presented, especially concerning stereotypical or biased imagery.
