The Franciscan Cadastre in Austrian Silesia: an incomplete and scattered archival heritage
Original language description
The article presents the cartographic and descriptive legacy of the Franciscan Cadastre for Austrian Silesia, which is currently stored in various memory institutions and state administration offices in the Czech Republic and Poland. After outlining the establishment of a land tax cadastre in the Czech lands and the subsequent territorial transformations of Austrian Silesia (including changes in state and administrative borders) affecting the arrangement of the Franciscan Cadastre, the main focus rests upon the fate of the individual cadastral materials, their preservation and availability today.
