The recent years have spread, in many countries, projects of cooperation between the public and the private sector known as Public Private Partnership (PPP) and pierced into many spheres of activity of public administration bodies. An increased interestin utilisation of the projects of public and private sector partnership in providing infrastructure and public services was caused especially due to limited resources of public budgets and also by an effort to increase quality and efficiency of providedpublic services. Any possibility of PPP utilisation should be always very thoroughly considered with regard to other alternatives of a project, as there exists a number of resources and ways of providing the public services. This paper resumes and discusses keystones, advantages and disadvantages of the PPP projects and suggests possibilities of their utilisation in the Czech Republic.

V posledních letech se v mnoha zemích rozšířily projekty spolupráce veřejného a soukromého sektoru Public Private Partnership (PPP) a pronikly do mnoha oblastí působnosti orgánů veřejné správy. Zvýšený zájem o využívání projektů partnerství veřejného a soukromého sektoru při zajišťování infrastruktury a veřejných služeb byl způsoben zejména díky omezeným zdrojům veřejných rozpočtů a rovněž snahou zvýšit kvalitu a efektivitu poskytovaných veřejných služeb. Možnost využití PPP by měla být vždy důkladně zvážena s ohledem na další alternativy projektu, neboť zdrojů a způsobů zajištění veřejných služeb existuje celá řada. Příspěvek shrnuje a diskutuje základní principy, výhody a nevýhody PPP projektů a doporučuje možnosti jejich využití v České republice.
