Corporate governance and social responsibility of companies - two mutually and closely interconnected concepts gain incessantly importance in connection with integrative and globalization tendencies. In the world, where a considerable part of products iscreated by multinational corporations and international holdings, it is enormously important to deal not only with productivity of corporations but also with their impact on the environment and entire interest groups. The aim of this paper is to refer to significant features of social responsibility of companies as part of corporate governance and the necessity of considering it as part of entrepreneurial thinking.

Corporate governance a společenská odpovědnost firem - dva vzájemné úzce propojené koncepty nabývají na významu v souvislosti s globalizačními tendencemi. Ve světě, kde začnou část produktu vytváří korporace, je nesmírně důležité zabývat se nejen produktivitou podniků, ale také jejich dopadem na životní prostředí a zájmové skupiny. Cílem této kapitoly je charakteristika významných rysů společenské odpovědnosti firem jako součásti corporate governance a její začlenění do podnikatelského myšlení.
