Original language description

The main object of this paper is to describe current situation in adoption of euro as a domestic currency which sometimes in following years will substitute the Czech koruna in Czech vaults, purses and wallets. Based on overall assessment of the Czech economy´s ability to operate in the euro area, one can say that some of the preconditions for benefiting from the adoption of the single currency have already been met, but others, by contrast, haven´t yet to achieve satisfactory parametres. This, coupledwith the low flexibility of the economy, and especially the labour market, simultaneously persents a risk to operation of the Czech economy in the euro area and prevents it from reaping the benefits asociated with adopting the euro.The euro adoption datewill therefore depend on resolving these problem areas in a fundamental reform of public finances and on enhancing the flexibility of the Czech economy.

Hlavním cílem této práce je popsat současnou situaci v přijímání eura, které v příštích letech nahradí českou korunu v peněženkách českých občanů a trezorech českých bank. Názory na přijetí eura, založené na hodnocení schopnosti české ekonomiky přijmouteuro, se různí. Někteří ekonomové říkají, že situace pro přijetí eura již nastala, jiní naopak tvrdí, že příslušné podmínky dosud nebyly naplněny. Tato situace, znásobená nízkou flexibilitou české ekonomiky zejména v oblasti trhu práce představuje značnériziko pechodu české ekonomiky na euro a je varováním před přehnaným optimismem spojeným s přechodem na euro. Určení data přijetí eura jako domácí měny závisí ne řešení uvedených problémů a vyžaduje provedení základních reforem veřejných financí a zvýšení flexibility české ekonomiky.
