Original language description
The chapter deals with financial sources for SMEs in the Europen Union and the Czech Republic especially. The first part of the Chapter focuses on nature of support to small and medium-sized enterprises in the European Union, not only legislative, but also practical utilization of funds to support small and medium-sized enterprises in the EU Member States.In the second part, we present the importance of SMEs and entrepreneurship within the EU economies and a basic structure of SMEs. This part also contains an analysis of development of SME in the Visegrad group countries. As SMEs existence seems to be a significant driving force of exports, contemporary economic crisis and its potential impact on SMEs have also been mentioned. A brief description of Structural funds has been given in the last part, as well as distribution of appropriate financial amounts to relevant programmes in the Czech Republic and its comparison.
