This paper describes results of selected methods from data mining area applied on data collected in specific sports domain. From year 2001 there is a strong cooperation among Department of Physical Training and Sport Activities at Silesian University, Czech ice skating association and figure skating clubs from Moravian-Silesian region, which resulted in interesting data collection which evaluates kinetic performances of young figure skaters by means of measuring explosive strength of legs. The dataset contains measurements about 280 young figure skaters aged 6 - 19 years. To find eventual latent relations among variables describing different features of figure skaters and to confirm or to overcome assumed causal relations we have used selected analytical methods from data mining methodology, which can also be used in the same manner in different domains like business intelligence or material science.
