Social Responsibility as an Engine for Health and Safety in SMEs
Original language description
Research shows that socially responsible practices in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are mainly linked at employees, and the work environment is a target. However, studies of health and safety initiatives within a corporate social responsibility (CSR) context in SMEs are absent. This paper aims to focus on the issues social responsibility as an soft factor of voluntary incentive strategies. Then, through empirical research via questionnaire technique with 229 firms, this study analyses socialresponsibility as a part of CSR from an SMEs perspective in Czech context. Research paper has been designed to generate insight into CSR motives and practices directed at social responsibility. The investigation applied quantitative methods and theoretical approaches to CSR, SMEs, and occupational health and safety. There seems to be a potential for strengthening health and safety through a more formalized use of CSR, especially related to health and psychosocial issues.
