INCOME INEQUALITY IN THE CZECH REPUBLIC AND SLOVAK REPUBLIC
Original language description
This paper deals with measuring of income inequality of population in Czech and Slovak Republic in years 2005 - 2013. Income inequality determines how the income of individuals differs from a situation when everyone would have same income. We could generally agree that the inequality of incomes found in most societies and economics would be desirable reduced because of its ability to create a space for social and economic discrimination. Considerable income inequality also negatively affects society because it causes poverty, unequal access to health care, is projected to crime, human relationships, etc. Income inequality will be here analysed through one of the best known indicators - Gini coefficient and its graphical representation - Lorenz curve. These two methods how to express income inequality are supplemented by Robin Hood Index and S80/S20 Ratio. The analysis of income distribution of Czech and Slovak households between years 2005 - 2013 and its order will be made in quintiles
