The paper addresses the issue of financial support for organizations working in the social sector in selected regions from the Human Resources and Employment Operational Programme. One of the objectives of the European Union is to reduce regional disparities, and increase employment in the individual regions. The paper deals with the evaluation of regional disparities in social sphere in selected regions in the Czech Republic and also their subsequent support from European Union funds. Social disparities were measured using a point method in the Usti Region, Moravian-Silesian Region, Hradec Kralove Region and Plzen Region. This analysis was followed by analysis of the deployment of financial support for economic subjects in the social sphere, where there was monitored link between disparities and financial support for companies from European Social Fund the Human Resources and Employment Operational Programme in period 2007 - 2013.
