The paper deals with entrepreneurial activity. The number of enterprises and the level of entrepreneurial activity shows a disparity in the region. This is also visible on the spatial distribution of business activities in the vicinity of the regional city of Ostrava. The research was conducted at the level of relations and developments at the level of enterprises, transport infrastructure and regional development. This paper summarizes the knowledge acquired in business conduct in the selected region.The analysis was carried out on a model example of the region with post-communist behaviour, with structural handicaps and situated in the centre of the European continent. This example could also predict the behaviour of the business environment, standard industrial region be defeated crisis phenomena.
