Original language description
Scientific disciplines that explore tourism, form one unit - is the theory of tourism. In the system of disciplines that study tourism, an important place belongs to the Tourism Geography. The aim of this article is evaluate the prerequisites for tourism development in the Moravian-Silesian region. The methods are observation and SWOT analysis. The results of the analysis are the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the region. The main strengths of the Moravian-Silesian Region are monuments, natural conditions and industrial tourism. Weaknesses are presented with bad condition of some roads and bridges, as well an insufficient support from the government.
