Original language description
Heavy industry in general and the transformation to industry 2.0 brings besides many positive impacts also the problem of where and how to find the usage for ancient industrial buildings and landscapes. The article aims to examine the possibility of using industrial heritage attractions/tourism as a tool for sustainable development of region/tourist destination. For this purpose, both types of marketing research – primary and secondary were applied. To get information regarding the current situation of the Moravian Silesian region for the development of industrial heritage tourism a SWOT analysis was elaborated and the general attitude of visitors toward the technical Monuments was identified using a questionnaire survey.
