Original language description
The paper presents knowledge management in the police practice in the link to the human resource management and describes the results of the pilot research, which was carried out at the Police Academy of the Czech Republic in Prague in the years 2014-2016. It focuses on facts that are reasons for implementing knowledge management in the practice of the organization. It identifies the specifics of knowledge management in police practice and highlights the need to a different approach in the area of human resource management in the case of the use of various knowledge-based strategies. The contribution responds to the current challenges faced by the Police of the Czech Republic, since in front of it ' s management there is not only a realisation of the system measures with an impact on the functioning of the police force as a whole, but also effective and ethical management of human resources.
