The chapter introduces basic concepts of Social Network Analysis (SNA) and explains its basic measures. It defines the Sociocultural Intelligence (SOCINT) as a one of the possible new intelligence discipline focused on the area of the human aspects of the operational environment. Further it describes the usage of the SNA in the field of SOCINT and shortly introduces some of the software toolkits available for effective creating of the SNA products. The chapter is not a detailed view on those very complex issues, it rather provides the general introduction information and selected portion of the literature for possible further, more detailed, studying.
