Czech Security Policy in the Context of the Hybrid Warfare in Ukraine
Original language description
This chapter analyses the changes in Czech security policy that have been ongoing in the context of the hybrid war waged by the Russian Federation (Russia) in Ukraine and described by it as a special operation to de-Nazify and de-militarise the country. This war is prosecuted according to a scenario conceived by Chief of the Russian General Staff Valery Gerasimov, and his concept of hybrid warfare is therefore described, alongside that used by British and American academics and implemented by the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation (NATO). The paper investigates NATO’s ability to counter hybrid threats, including co-operation within the organisation and with countries of the European Union (EU).
