Periodic transtelephonic ECG monitoring and asymptomatic recurrences after ablation of longstanding persistent atrial fibrillation.
Original language description
The study aimed at proving stable sinus rhythm (SR), and exposing asymptomatic atrial fibrillation / tachycardia (AF/AT) recurrences after ablation of longstanding persistent atrial fibrillation (LSPAF) by means of periodic transtelephonic monitoring. Conclusion: Patients displayed good adherence to longer-term transtelephonic monitoring after ablation of LSPAF. Recurrences were predominantly represented by persistent symptomatic AF/AT; however, scarce unforeseen asymptomatic episodes cannot be excluded. Rare patients with asymptomatic self-teminating paroxysmal AF/AT are usually known to have the recurrences from standard means of follow-up.
