Left atrial voltage and volume characteristics at repeat ablation for longstanding persistent atrial fibrillation
Original language description
Aims: Complex ablation strategies may have detrimental effect on the structure and function of the left atrium (LA). The purpose was to compare voltage and volume characteristics prior to the first ablation (1 Abl) and repeat ablation (ReAbl) for longstanding persistent atrial fibrillation (LSPAF). Conclusion: Complex ablation for LSPAF led to significant decrease in LA volume and increase in the proportion of points < 0,2 at the expense of the points 0.2-1 mV. Preservation of the proportion of points >1 mV and the maximum voltage within the LA appendage set the basis for adequate LAA and LA performance after ablation.
