Outcomes of prospective study randomizing patients with long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation to additional linear versus electrogram-guided ablation.
Original language description
Introduction: This prospective randomized study investigated outcomes of additional linear (LIN group) vs. electrogram-guided ablation (ECG group) on top of mandatory steps consisting of pulmonary vein isolation, and mitral isthmus, left atioal (LA) roof, and cavotricuspid isthmus lines in patients with long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation (LSPAF). No differences were observed in the rates of AF termination, SR restoration by ablation, or longer-term SR maintenance. Both the strategies also similarly impacted on the improvement of hemodynamic and functional status.
