War : from Disciplinarity to Multidisciplinarity and further to Transdisciplinarity
Original language description
The chapter argues that the concept of metaphor can provide grounds for a genuine transdisciplinary research which goes beyond usual disciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches. It demonstrates that such different kinds of discourse as theoretical explanations, historical narratives and artistic representations are all embedded in conceptual metaphors. The examination of these conceptual metaphors allows for mutual comparisons of these different discourses.
