The feeding trial was conducted on 8 heifers (live weight: 478 ? 530 kg) in the Research Institute for Cattle Breeding, Ltd. Rapotín in December 2006 and January 2007. The animals were offered grass silage ad libitum by means of automatic feeding boxes.The grass silage was produced utilizing the unfertilised grassland of the known botanical composition with extensive utilization (2 cuts per year). The feed samples were analysed in laboratories at the mentioned institute. It was monitored the individualfeed intake within 24 hours using special software (RIC Management Windows, version 1.7; Insentec). The daily dry matter intake of the heifers was calculated on 100 kg l. w. Average data were 1.68 kg (coefficient of variation 25.95 %) in the first period (19th December ? 28th December) and 1.93 kg (coefficient of variation 25.05 %) in the second period (29th December ? 7th January). Czech description

Ve Výzkumném ústavu pro chov skotu s.r.o. byl proveden krmný pokus na 8 jalovicích (o hmotnosti 478 ? 530 kg) ve volné pokusné stáji v měsíci prosinci 2006. Zvířata byla krmena ad-libitum do automatických krmných boxů konzervovanou travní siláží z vybrané nehnojené lokality známého botanického složení využívané extenzivně (2 seče za rok). Vzorky krmiva byly odebrány a následně analyzovány v laboratořích ústavu. Byla sledována individuální spotřeba krmiva za 24 hodin pomocí softwaru firmy Insentec, kterábyla vyhodnocena v sušině na 100 kg živé hmotnosti. Spotřeba krmiva u vybraných jalovic v prvním období 19.12. ? 28.12. 2006 byla na úrovni 1,68 kg, variační koeficient 25,95 %. V období 29.12. ? 7.1.2007 na úrovni 1,93 kg, variační koeficient 25,05 %.Za celé období byla na úrovni 1,8 kg sušiny za 24 hodin, variační koeficient 26,42 %. Obsah vlákniny a popele se mírně zvyšoval vlivem variability porostu.
