High pressure axial flow fans for modern coal power stations
Original language description
Four variants of new high pressure axial flow fan stages were designed in AHT Energetika Ltd for power industry. They have hub/tip ratio value of 0.6. Design flow and pressure coefficients were in the range of 0.35 - 0.6 and 0.46-0.95.The aerodynamic loading of rotor and stator blade elements was high. Experimental verification of fan stage aerodynamic performance was carried out on test rig with external diameter of 600 mm. Several simple dependencies for the determination of the fan principal parameters were derived. Two one stage fan variants for modern coal fired power station blocks with the electrical output of 660 MW were designed. The application of new axial flow stages enabled the design of one stage fan with an external diameter of 4.5 m anda peripheral velocity of 177 m/s. Use of traditional stage design leads to more expensive two stage fan.
