Characteristic levels of application of engineering design knowledge and their optimal utilization
Original language description
It is generally known that practising engineering designers tend to the traditional intuitive ways of using of their knowledge, acquired both from theory and ( more and more in the course of time ) practice. The more systematic ( or often in fact only empirical or mnemonic ) ways are recommended or even strictly requested by those teachers who want to describe and explain engineering design procedures more rationally. Practising engineering designers in general and some teachers "do not like" these approaches becuase of their "rigidity", and thus difficult compatibility with their own creativity, etc. The paper shows, how to face or even to use this situation for better results both in engineering design education and practice.
