Numerical simulation of mechanical behaviour of fibre wound tubes
Original language description
The paper has been focused on the area of composite materials manufactured by fibre winding into axisymmetric shape. Such structures are easily manufactured and they have the wide industrial applicability. The aim of the study has been to create a numerical model of composites manufactured by fibre winding into tube shape for the analysis of their mechanical properties. The effective properties of the composite tubes in the axial as well as tangential directions were derived from the fibre and matrix properties. Analyses of mechanical properties in dependence on the fibre direction, on the number of layers etc. have been performed. Numerical simulation results were experimentally verified.
