The paper summarizes the knowledge about the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). It presents the philosophy of the PLM and describes the PLM objectives. The tasks that can be solved y the PLM methodology in a company, and their consequences are the mainpart of the article. The paper will specify the premises that have to be fulfilled in order to achieve the PLM benefits. these benefits will be also specified. Statements will be demonstrated by some studies.
