The influence of corundum particles as filler on properties of hard chromium coatings
Original language description
The paper describes the use of corundum powder as filler in hard chromium coatings and its influence on the properties of coatings. Because of good properties such as high hardness wear resistance chemical resistance, these coatings are used for piston rings. The substrate for the deposition of coatings is dustile cast iron with globular graphite. Coatings were prepared in hard chromium plating bath with/without corundum and commercial catalyst Heef25. There was prepared coating without corundum and composite coating containing corundum in chromium matrix. The samples were tested for "fretting test" and then for "impact test". The composite coating with corundum shows the lower wear track after "fretting test". But on the other hand the coating withoutcorundum filer shows the greater resistance to the shock dynamic constant stress
