Material-technological Modelling of Various Holding Times at the Partitioning Temperature in AHSS with Different Alloying Strategies
Original language description
New methods of heat treatment usually require precise control of processing parameters. Therefore, a new type of heat treatment, the Q-P (quenching and partitioning) process, was carried out on a thermomechanical simulator, which enables application of rapid and precisely controlled temperature and deformation load. The most important Q-P process parameters are quenching and partitioning temperatures and partitioning hold, which affect not only the fraction of retained austenite but also precipitation of carbides. Q-P strategies with different partitioning conditions were tested on three different high strength low alloyed steels with different contents of Mn and Si. Strength of over 2000MPa with a ductility A5mm of about 14% was obtained for the optimal combination of partitioning hold conditions.
