New Innovative Concepts for Using Modern High-Strength Steels in Metal Forming
Original language description
More significant innovations can be expected in a technology of massive forming in the cases, when not only the potential of new forming methods will be taken advantage of, but the development of new materials will take place at the same time and the newmaterials will be directly modified to suit the new forming applications. These production processes will be able to use to the full the technological potential of the processed material properties. Process chains will be modified so that the required final shape of material structures and thus also suitable mechanical properties will be obtained. It can be assumed that new materials with complex structures and excellent properties will be developed for massive forming; similarly as they have been developed for thin sheet processing. As examples can be mentioned recent high strength TRIP steels, or steels processed in a technological chain integrating Q-P process.
