Original language description
This paper deals with the design of a bellows coupling from composite material. This type of clutch-shaped bellows can be used as an alternative to a conventional universal joint. A numerical strength and stiffness analysis were performed. This analysis included design optimization in terms of the required rigidity and uniformity of stress distribution. The strength was evaluated by using maximum stress strength criterion. This numerical model respects overlays of layers of prepregs and distortion of fibres.
