Original language description
This chapter summarizes our experience gained from capturing industrial layouts using a terrestrial LiDAR device. Despite the cost of LiDAR devices, they proved to be useful in such tasks. Different methods for taking and processing such scans are described, both in production halls during operation and during pauses. The resulting point clouds can be used as an underlay for further work, like material flow optimization, discrete event simulation or ergonomic analysis. The methods and recommendations described here are backed up by our experience and research.
