Quality of the cutting tool microgeometry for machining aluminium alloys
Original language description
Modern cutting tools with high quality of their attributes are very important factor for companies that increase production efficiency and product quality. Among the cutting tools properties belong high durability, endurance, and cutting power. Quality shape and surface of cutting edge micro and macro geometry is important too. This article deals with cutting edge microgeometry on the sintered carbide end mill tools. For preparation of cutting edge microgeometry is used drag finishing technology. Two process media are used during experiment. Due to different process media, final surface quality will be dissimilar. Nowadays, cutting edge preparation is one of the basic but inseparable parts of development and production cutting tools. Microgeometry quality affects behavior cutting tools during machining process. It is mainly cutting forces, friction and vibration. Drag finishing impact on the cutting tool functional surfaces are investigated in this article. Microscope IFM G4 is used for measurement cutting edge microgeometry.
