Assessment of Usability of WC-Co Powder Mixtures for SLM
Original language description
This paper aims to provide comprehensive information on the usability of WC-Co powder mixtures for the additive technology of selective laser melting (SLM). Three different WC-Co powder mixtures and a precipitation-hardenable steel powder, which is ordinarily used for this process, were compared. Metallograpic analysis by means of optical and scanning electron microscopes was performed for evaluating their properties. Phase composition of the powders was studied using X-ray analysis. Results of these analyses enable the WC-Co powder mixtures to be ranked in the order of suitability for the SLM process.
