Optimization of a catalytic converter chamber
Original language description
The article focuses on numerical analysis and optimization of exhaust gasses flow in a catalytic converter which is one of the highly important components in the cogeneration unit produced by TEDOM a.s. The optimization deals with total pressure drop and gas distribution at the inlet of the converter. In the article, the description of geometry, computational mesh is presented as well as the summary of parameters used for the numerical analysis. Findings from study of dependency of optimizable parameters on shape and size of the chamber represented the basis for evaluation of the most suitable version of the chamber. All calculations were processed by ANSYS CFX 2020 R1 software.
