    The paper describes the investigation of the electric discharge inception in a distribution network element. The subject of the investigation was a wall porcelain bushing applied to indoor substations. The aim of the investigation was to discover such solutions, which would eliminate the electric discharge activity of this bushing. The location and analysis of the electric discharge activity were implemented using the program system MARC. The results of the analysis were suggestions how to suppress theelectric discharge activity of the porcelain bushing.
