The paper deals with the numerical solution of distribution of the steady-state thermal field produced by an external harmonic electromagnetic field generated by an inductor of any shape in a non-ferromagnetic, electrically well conductive slab of finitethickness. The continuous mathematical model of the electromagnetic part of the problem consists of the Fredholm integral equation of the second kind for the phasor of the eddy current density in the slab. This equation may be decomposed into three component equations, each of them having the real and imaginary parts. The system is then discretised and solved by a procedure suitable for processing large matrices. The steady-state thermal equation respects the temperature dependencies of all physical characteristics of the heated material.The theoretical analysis is supplemented by several illustrative examples demonstrating the possibilities of the suggested algorithm.All computations have been carried out by a single-purpose user prog
