Phase-angle jump associated with voltage dips
Original language description
The voltage during a fault not only drops in magnitude but also shows a jump (shift) in phase angle. Phase-angle jump (shift) in a balanced voltge dip is caused by the X/R ratio difference between the source and the faulted feeder. Phase-angle jumps in an unbalanced dip are the aggregation effect of the X/R ratio difference and the three-phase unbalance. Additional phase-angle shifts are caused by transformation of the dip through a transformer.
