This paper deals with active rectifier control based on PR controller. This control provides direct control of trolley-wire current. For this reason, it appears promising for control of the primary active rectifiers of traction converter with medium-frequency transformer. This control algorithm has been at beginning tested on low-voltage laboratory prototype of single-phase voltage-source active rectifier. This paper presents simulation and experimental results of this modern control variant under steady-state and selected transient conditions.
