Air Gap Flow Of Turbogenerators Through CFD Model

  • Original language description

This paper presents an analysis of rotating flow in an air gap of turbogenerators. The analysis considers angular momentum, change in mass, and static preassure that occur both between and across regions where cooling flow is injected, and appied to othsmooth and rough rotors and stators. A simple CFD model shows that most turbogenerator gap flow are undeveloped with an average tangencial velocity different that half the rotor speed.
