Numerical analysis of a 25kV bus holder
Original language description
The paper deals with a 25kV bus holder with solid insulation. In some cases, tracks of surface discharges on bus bare insulation were found in operation. The tracks were on the insulation of parallel buses near to the bus holder. To explain these effects, numerical methods were applied. The bus holder model was created for simulation using FEM software. The problem was solved as an electrostatic one for different angels of three phase?s voltages. Computed results correspond well with observed effects, the positions of surface discharges are related to the highest values of intensity of the electric field. The explanation of the problem origin can lead to the improvement of the holder design.
