Contact properties of PEDOT based metal-organic heterojunctions
Original language description
Stable electrical contacting of organic electroactive compounds remains of utmost importance for construction of novel electronic components and devices. The particular work being presented is based on experimental qualitative assessment of metal contacts formation on PEDOT:PSS. The experimentation with Au PEDOT:PSS junctions revealed irreversible changes of electrical properties characterized by the increase of the overall resistance accompanied with growing nonlinearity of the current-voltage responseof Au contacts formed on the dried organic layer. In contrast, formation of the Au-PEDOT:PSS contacts in the liquid state of the organic material prior to the final drying led to the stable electrical performance. Further investigation was aimed at morequantitative assessment of ohmic contact properties between PEDOT:PSS and metal electrodes made of Au and Cu confirming the generally lower contact resistance of golden electrodes.
