The transformer which supplies one-phase load only should be designed as a one-phase-transformer. Its disadvantage is the reliability of this type of supplying. An identical application exists where we need to safeguard the supply even when one phase ofthe network has a significant voltage drop, or a total black-out. This paper summarizes the basic dissimilarities during the transformer design and results of a prototype measurement
