    In the paper are discussed the adequate problems to estimate the partial discharge (PD) behaviour of typical PD arrangements under AC and DC conditions. The investigations were performed using typical PD test arrangements, corona, gliding and internal PD. For estimation of the PD behaviour the standardized parameter QIEC and derived quantities as repetition rate (N), PD current (I) recommended by IEC were measured.
