Single-Phase Filtering System for DC Motor Locomotives
Original language description
This research has been motivated by industrial demand for modernization of older types of DC motor locomotives powered from AC line. The paper describes control algorithm of additional filtering system for DC motor locomotives based on shunt active powerfilter (APF). The single-phase shunt active power filter reduces harmonic distortion of AC-line current and thus reduces losses in traction transformer and trolley-wire. The proposed control algorithm of APF consists of hysteresis current controller with an adaptive multiplicative general parameter finite impulse response filter (MGP-FIR) as a precise current reference generator. Behaviour of designed control is analyzed by experiments on developed laboratory prototype.
