    SimEPS (Steady-State Simulations of Electric Power Systems) software was developed for a] performing the load flow analysis using the Gauss, Gauss-Seidel, Newton-Raphson, Fast-Decoupled and the DC load flow methods, b] the optimization of electric powersystems using various control devices (on-load tap changing transformers for V/Q/P control, PV buses with var limits), c] voltage stability analysis using either the Cycled Newton-Raphson or the Continuation Load Flow (CLF) method and d] the shortest distance to voltage instability (SDVI) approach. Moreover, the software contains also the converter for problems a]-c] into AMPL text format to be solved e.g. by the NEOS Server for Optimization. All the methods and other additional codes of this software are designed and optimized in terms of solution accuracy and computation speed using sparsity techniques and smart programming in MATLAB environment. Input data can be inserted in both physical and per units. Outputs can be stored in both
