    Evaluation of theoretical results of overhead line ampacity model

  • Original language description

    The paper is focused on evaluation of the thermal model of a transmission overhead line and its comparison with measured values using two different techniques. The most problematic part of the model development was to reliably respect convective coolingof the conductor. A confrontation of several ways of convection calculation was made using CFD and two correlation methods. The deviation of modeled temperature was mostly ?1 oC in the case of surface temperature measurement. Difference between surface and conductor core temperature is depicted and statistically evaluated.
