In continuing of previous basic investigations within a co - operation work between Schneider Electric Company and Pilsen University special breakdown test series of the used test system with gaseous insulation (synthetic air) were performed. In particular, according to the arranged test program, the influence of different test parameters as gap distance and gas pressure at different field homogeneity at lightning impulse voltage on breakdown behaviour were investigated. The whole test program is separated into three parts (A, B, C).
