The influence of thermal properties of materials on electric insulating systems of air-cooled turbogenerators
Original language description
Properly designed and calculated ventilation, thermal and dielectric system of electrical equipment is essential for safe and reliable operation of electrical machines. The resulting heat losses must be removed to prevent the failure condition or permanent damage to the electrical equipment. For these reasons, it is necessary to pay close attention to thermal conditions in the electrical equipment, study and mathematically describe the processes taking place in high-voltage insulation systems. For the past few decades high-voltage insulation systems have been based on mica-glass taping impregnated with resin as VPI (Vacuum Pressure Impregnation) and RR (Resin-Rich) processes. Improvements in this technology are still accessible. Therefore is also important to study new materials which could improve the dielectric and thermal properties of electrical equipment. This article describes possibility how using micro fillers aluminum oxide (Al203) can affect the electric and thermal propertie
