    Novel monostable fail-safe electromagnetic actuator for straight valve in high-speed operation

  • Original language description

    A novel concept of monostable electromagnetic actuator with a magnetically moved plunger is proposed. The actuator takes advantage of permanent magnet for assuring stable position of the plunger and single solenoid coil for full control. The main advantage of the concept s safety of operation and high dynamic response. Consequently, major application of the novel actuator is a valve for controlling critical parts of hydraulic or pneumatic systems. Presented is the basic concept of the actuator together with its numerical investigation, design of the first prototype with closed-loop control and its experimental verification.
